This is an independent feature film. Sci fi / thriller.

Payment: will be deferred on sale of the film AS WELL AS PERCENTAGE OF FILMS GROSS PROFITS (not even hollywood actors get this). We will be aiming for limited cinema release as well as streaming. We will update IMDB credits etc and obviously feed you on set…. as this is the case and most people might have day jobs we have decided to shoot WEEKENDS. Friday nights, Saturday and Sundays in CANBERRA, ACT. IN OCTOBER 2026. — I am still looking at funding opportunities to pay you during shoot but this can’t be confirmed yet- I think if we make the best film we can– and it gets on streaming there will still be a pay day. this will all be reflected in contracts upfront….. this film is called INVASION DAY

As an Australia Day party comes to an end, a violent home invasion arises. But these criminals are not the only invaders– there is an even bigger threat. This sci-fi / thriller has a distinct Australian suburban flavour with horror elements and a touch of humour. 

They needed therapy, they got an invasion instead.

Charlie (Lead)
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 40s – 50s
  • Description: FATHER & ESTRANGED HUSBAND. Pragmatic under pressure… trying so hard to hold the family together while dealing with crazy mounting external chaos and personal tenions….

Needs an actor who can balance grounded emotional stakes with raw, physical survival instinct. 

Linda (Lead)
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 40s – 50s
  • Description: Estranged partner to Charlie. Fiercely protective, sharp-witted, and quick to act when the situation turns dangerous. Looking for a performer with strong dramatic chops who can project fierce intensity and vulnerability.
Sarah (Lead)
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: Teens – Early 20s
  • Description: SISTER & DAUGHTER
  • Need an actor who is fiercely independent, observant with exceptional attention to detail, highly resilient under pressure. The Character lives on her PHONE, scrolls. FOMO abounds… and has a strength and venerability at the same time.
Robbie (Lead)
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: Teens
  • Description: Edgy and reactive, prone to high-anxiety panic when the situation spirals out of control. Needs an actor who can pull off authentic, high-stress adrenaline responses.
Steve (Lead)
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 40s – 50s
  • Description: Found sleeping off a bender in his car. Unpredictable, rough around the edges, and entirely unprepared for the nightmare unfolding around him. Needs an actor who can play disoriented, desperate, and gritty.
Intruder  (Lead)
  • Gender: Male / Female
  • Age: 20s
  • Description: Open to performers with Middle Eastern or African cultural backgrounds and lived experiences. The volatile anchor of the group—high-strung, dangerous, and forced to call the shots when things escalate rapidly. Requires an actor with a commanding physical presence and intense, unpredictable energy.
Young Intruder (Lead)
  • Gender: Male / Female
  • Age: Teen
  • Description: Open to performers with Middle Eastern or African cultural backgrounds and lived experiences. Younger, reactive, and quickly overwhelmed as the situation spirals out of control. Needs a performer who can pull off authentic, high-stress adrenaline and panic under pressure.
Mrs. Mangola (Supporting)

Gender: Female

  • Age: 60s+
  • Description: A neighborhood presence who brings an extra layer of local flavor and unexpected friction to the chaotic mix.
The Worker (Supporting)
  • Gender: Male / Female
  • Age: 20s – 50s
  • Description: This is a very small role. 
Neighbour (Supporting)

Description: This is a really creepy looking character. It’s a small role but really effective.
